Endocrine Disruptors in Wastewater

Though it may seem like we are surrounded by endocrine disruptors and that there is no hope, there are some fairly easy solutions to preventing exposure to these chemicals.

Gardening

Try to limit your usage of pesticides in lawn and garden care as much as possible.

Water Testing

You can test your water for certain chemicals to see what the levels are at in your tap water. Additionally, you can purchase an NSF-certified water filter in order to get any gross chemicals out. Additionally, you can drink out of glass cups and non-plastic water bottles to limit exposure to BPAs.

Legislature

One of the best ways to stop endocrine disruptors from getting into water supplies is to support laws and regulations that aim to limit the amount of known endocrine disruptors and to add to the list of regulated chemicals. Since commercial waste is such a large culprit, support against practices that allow endocrine disruptors into the water supply is great way to hold these companies accountable.
