Endocrine Disruptors in Wastewater

A 2017 National Lakes Assessment found that all 50 lakes surveyed contained at least one chemical contaminant including the pesticide DEET, hormones, alkylphenols, and more. Along with other studies, there is a growing concern of contaminants in lakes, streams, and rivers, many of which being endocrine actives. These mimic naturally occurring hormones and continues to grow at low concentrations.
